Snake Handling Courses - Learn to face you fear.


This three day course is designed for people who have special interest in snakes, or those who need to know how to deal with snake bites, catch & safely remove snakes from dwellings and relocate them properly back into their natural habitat.


Course content includes:


  • Introduction Snakes of South-east Asia (Venomous & Non Venomous)
  • Snake Biology and behavior
  • Snake bites / venom - Signs and symptoms
  • Risk factors in snakebites
  • First Aid in snakebite cases: Medical (Clinic / Hospital) and Herbal (Survival In Rainforest)
  • Introduction to Snake handling.
  • Rules of handling.
  • Handling equipment.
  • Handling techniques.
  • Practical handling.
  • Special test & handling evaluation.

Practical snake handling the following species:


Non & Mildly Venomous Snakes

  • Reticulated Python – Python reticulatus
  • Mangrove Tree Snake – Boiga Dendrophila Melanota
  • Common Racer – Elaphe flavolineate

Poisonous & Venomous Snakes

  • CommonCobra - Naja naja
  • King Cobra - Ophiophagus Hannah
  • Mangrove Pit Viper - Trimeresurus purpureomaculatus

All participants will receive both a CD and printed version of the course material.


All equipment required used for the course will be provided by Rimbawi Team.

All successful participants will receive a certificate of completion.


Terms and conditions of Snake handling course


  • A minimum of 4 applicants (Maximum 8) is necessary for the course to run.
  • A fifty percent deposit is required two weeks prior to the scheduled date of the course. This is non refundable except in the instance that a course is cancelled by Rimbawi.
  • Pricing does not include transport, accomodation, meals, or drinks.
  • Participants will be required to complete an indemnity prior to course commencement.
